Guy Haddon-Grant

Haddon-Grants works are primarily concerned with the human compulsion to find meaning amongst the chaos. Find meaning and give it form, create order, hierarchies religious or mystical. Haddon-Grant‘s sculptures and drawings attempt to recreate sensations experienced when standing in front of the totems of the Venus figurines in the British Museum. Haddon-Grant is interested in the abstract qualities that these totems possess; the gravity they exert, the power, weight and balance but also the impossibility of a ‘correct’ interpretation, and therefore the openness for any interpretation. Haddon-Grant studies the different representations and symbolism of nature, men and deities
